Drug and Alcohol Policy
Partner Carrier LLC
Company Drug and Alcohol Policy
Effective Date: April 9, 2026
Revision: Initial Release
Partner Carrier LLC is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional work environment. Because we operate in the freight transportation industry, we recognize that drug and alcohol misuse creates serious risks to drivers, employees, customers, freight, equipment, and the public.
For that reason, Partner Carrier LLC maintains a strict drug and alcohol policy for all safety-sensitive personnel and requires compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements governing commercial transportation operations.
Policy Statement
Partner Carrier LLC prohibits the unlawful use, possession, distribution, manufacture, sale, or presence of illegal drugs in the workplace, in company vehicles, while performing company business, or while performing any safety-sensitive function.
Partner Carrier LLC also prohibits any employee or driver from reporting for duty, remaining on duty, or performing safety-sensitive work while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, controlled substances used improperly, or any medication or substance that may impair safe performance.
Any individual who violates this policy may be removed immediately from duty and may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or contract, as well as any reporting or compliance action required by law.
Scope
This policy applies to all drivers and other personnel performing safety-sensitive work on behalf of Partner Carrier LLC. The company may also apply drug- and alcohol-related fitness-for-duty standards to other employees where safety, legal compliance, or workplace risk makes such standards appropriate.
Expectations for Employees and Drivers
All covered personnel are expected to:
- Report to work fit for duty and able to perform safely
- Remain free from the effects of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing substances while on duty
- Comply with all required testing and screening procedures
- Notify the company when a prescribed or over-the-counter medication may affect the safe performance of job duties
- Cooperate fully with company investigations involving suspected impairment or policy violations
Testing Program
Partner Carrier LLC may require drug and alcohol testing in accordance with applicable law and company procedures, including but not limited to:
- Pre-employment testing
- Random testing
- Post-accident testing
- Reasonable suspicion testing
- Return-to-duty testing
- Follow-up testing
Refusal to submit to a required test, failure to cooperate with testing procedures, adulteration or substitution of a specimen, or any other attempt to interfere with the testing process will be treated as a serious policy violation.
Prescription and Over-the-Counter Medications
The lawful use of prescribed or non-prescribed medication does not excuse unsafe performance. Employees and drivers are responsible for ensuring that any medication they use does not impair alertness, judgment, coordination, or the safe performance of their duties.
If there is any doubt about whether a medication may affect safe work performance, the employee or driver must immediately notify management before performing safety-sensitive duties.
Reasonable Suspicion
Partner Carrier LLC reserves the right to remove an employee or driver from duty when there is a good-faith belief that the individual may be impaired or in violation of this policy. Observable behavior, appearance, speech, performance issues, or other objective indicators may lead to reasonable suspicion testing or other immediate safety action.
Consequences of Violations
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Immediate removal from safety-sensitive duties
- Suspension of dispatch or work assignments
- Mandatory evaluation or return-to-duty requirements where applicable
- Termination of employment or contract
- Notification to appropriate regulatory systems or authorities when required
Company Commitment
Partner Carrier LLC enforces this policy to protect people, property, and the integrity of our operations. We are committed to fair, consistent, and lawful administration of this policy and to maintaining a workplace where safety and accountability come first.
